So my birthday is in the winter and I really don't have that big of a house to host the party inside. This is one of my biggest days ever because this party willbe my first real BIG party, so I need ideas to keep the party fun, like what kind of theme would I do and what should I do... yea SWEET 16 is a theme, but I just need help!

OK so my sweet 16 is in feb. to be exact feb.22 and I want to have the best party ever.?
My daughter's Sweet Sixteen was 2 years ago - we rented our town hall building, decorated with crepe paper and balloons in her favorite colors. We got small paper plates in her favorite colors and used those and splastic silverware to use for snacks. I also surprised her with napkins that were personalized for her with name and Sweet Sixteen on them! The Town Hall allowed us to use the basketball area and set a volleyball net up. We had a DJ come in for a few hours and basically set up chips, pretzels and a cake with tons of cupcakes around it. We set up a box for cards and a table for presents. One of the Balloons was huge and had a pen attached to it for her friends to all sign. Basically it ended up to be a like a school dance and party night with over 400 people stopping in to say Happy Birthday! She had a really good time - got tons of presents and cards and they all talk about it still! Granted we are a small town but everyone had a great time! This age is more about socializing with friends and by just having an open area for people to be was what worked for her Sweet Sixteen!

Happy Birthday!
Reply:All really depends on what your budget is and what you like/interests are.

The MTV show - my sweet sixteen is a great place to pick ideas.

You could always rent a tent for your yard, nothing fancy with walls, and make the theme Winter Wonderland or a Ski party, where people get to where there cutest winter outfits.

So all in all - we need more info on you and your budget before we can help.
Reply:You could do an opposite party (to the season). Have a Hawaiian Luau. You can get lais, and party favors on the internet really cheap. Decorate your house with various Hawaiian items, have everyone wear Hawaiian shirts, maybe even grass skirts. Have Hawaiian Punch, and buffet with various foods from the region. It will turn into a normal teen party anyway eventually because that is who will be attending... but at least might give you a break from the "cold" season, if you live in a northern reagion...Have fun.
Reply:isnt that close to marti graw (SP) if it is you could use that as a theam in LA oand we both know in late feb down there it could be 80 outside then it could be 50 as well just a few ideas
