I just found a calico cat, she's probably about 2-3 years old, and i have no idea what to name her.?

I found her the day before my birthday, and she is soo sweet, since it's winter here every time i go out in the barn she always jumps up on my lap and climbs inside my coat. She follows me everywhere but i cant think of a name, i was thinking Kasey because i love nascar and kasey kahne. I would name her callie but i already had a calico named callie, so i'm lost

How about Lucky, she is lucky, you know, lucky she found you.
Reply:I once had a calico cat that was so sweet. She would snuggle and purr. So I named her Calico, and so she remained until her death.
Reply:I believe that God lets us know what to name our cats. For instance, when I had a solid black cat I named him "Who" after Dr. Who and a neighbor of ours named their solid black cat "Spook" because she found him on Halloween. Both cats loved their names.

A little over a year ago, a kitten was brought to me from an abusive owner. The kitten was only 6 weeks old and an unnamed Siamese. She was the cutest little thing. I decided to name her Ling Ling - to this day , I don't why but she loves it and it seems to fit her.

As for your cat, there are a couple of books by Cleveland Armory called "The Best Cat Ever " and "The Cat Who Came For Christmas". He named his cats Marian and Polar Bear. Since it's winter where you are, you might consider naming your cat along those lines.

Good luck and God Bless !
Reply:This most definitely sounds like it's a cat. So I would call it a cat (or possibly Felis if you want it in latin) if I were you

calling it "dog" would be wrong, and possibly offensive

Reply:Maybe Noelle-Christmas time and all-please just make sure that if she stays in the barn, warm thermal blankets and protection from the cold-I think alot more than a name is in place here-good luck with this baby-and also make sure she has water and food!
Reply:I think Kasey is a great name. Stick with it!
Reply:I think Kasey is perfect, but I like Callie I think that is cute! :) GooD LuCk
Reply:I think Kasey would be nice.

Have you tried to find her owner? Most likely if there is a barn, she was dumped and nobody will claim her, but it would be good to put a simple sign out front for a few days. Don't say too much. Found cat, owner describe will do very well. If anybody tries to claim her, ask for a picture. Watch the lost want ads.

Since she is female, please make sure she is spayed. Most often they get dumped cause they are in heat and somebody who took in a "free" kitten won't spend the money to spay.

Who ends up paying is the kittens she has, and their kittens.

Sorry to beat on that horse again, but it's a huge problem.....
Reply:Name her after where you found her.
Reply:I would name her Sorrel...I always thought Sorrel was good for Calico or tortoiseshell cats...
Reply:k.k. for kasey, it's different
