Sweet Sixteen?!??! HELP!?

ok guys....my 16th b-day is in dec. (i know that its quite a few months away, but ive heard that u need to plan early.)

i need some ideas for a theme/decorations. i was thinking since its in the winter, to do a winter wonderland theme but im not sure...any suggestions would be greatly appreciated :) thx

oh...and just to let u know...its gonna be a formal dinner and then contra dancing afterwards (its like square/english dancing)

Sweet Sixteen?!??! HELP!?
Since it's a winter theme and formal, I would do the colors of silver, ice blue, and white. You can get a gown in the ice blue color which would look beautiful and you can have those colors going throughout the hall.

You can get snowflake decorations and hang them from the ceiling. If they don't have glitter on them, add the glitter for drama and a much prettier effect! You can go to any crafts store and get white glitter with siliver in it and put it on the edges on the snowflakes and hang them at different lengths from the ceiling.

I don't like the idea of a Christmas theme because I feel this is about your Birthday and your Birthday and Christmas should be separate. I LOVE the winter wonderland theme though and when I hear that, I see the colors of ice blue or a pastel blue, silver and a white.

You can find fake snow online and even a cotton like material that's like a fake snow and you can have that on the floor, near the edges of the floor. You can have it around where the food and music are going to be etc.

For centerpieces you can do white flowers and then white flowers with the tips sprayed blue. Then add ice blue ribbons into the arrangement.

You can also add blue and silver balloons and streamers throughout the hall.

You can have silver confetti strewn throughout the fake snow. The fake snow is the cottony stuff you see in the mall around holiday time, you can get it online, and can even buy it in the stores around holiday time and you can decorate the hall with that too.

You can also get twinkle lights or stringed christmas lights and put them around the party and up through the ceiling, think how pretty it would look with those lights and then the snowflakes hanging down! You can also have them throughout the fake snow, in the cottony stuff, like it's reflecting, when you see the snow glisten, it would be the glisten in the snow.

You can also add an ice sculpture being it's a wonderland theme, but that depends on your budget and what you're willing to spend.

I hope some of these ideas help. I really love the idea of winter wonderland. I hope you have a great party and Happy Sweet 16!
Reply:definitely go with a winter wonderland theme! that sounds like so much fun!

recently i went to a large bar-mitzvah with a similar theme and it was the most amazing party i have ever been too! i'm sure that there was no budget involved but i thought you might be interested in what some of the best decorations were. there was a snow machine aimed over the dance floor, frost on the walls, there were people on pedestals wearing snow queen outfits during the cocktail hour, and there were snowflakes hanging from the ceiling. i'm sure that this is all way too much but maybe just take a few ideas and make them your own.

happy early birthday! i hope your party is a success!
Reply:Well, since your birthday is in December... you should have a Christmas theme. Decorations: Christmas tree, balloons, confetti, a banner saying "My Sweet 16 Party!" Outside of your house decorations: Candy Canes, Snowman, Santa Clause, Reindeers, a sleigh.
Reply:do something that you really enjoy while it's till warm outside so that way you can enjoy it during the winter too or do something kind of fancy like a mini formal ball with a twist
Reply:since its winter why don'y u spice it up a little and do a hawaiin theme or try to think of ur fave thing or place to be and make a theme oput of that. as long as the iots super fun itll be great. happpy sweet sixten
