Sweet Sixteen Party?

My 16th birthday is in, like, mid winter when it can be really cold and snowy and i would like to have a party at my house, but i dont know what to do because you really cant do anthing in the winter!! i had an idea of mardi gras but i dont know how to do that at my house!! i need other ideas or how i could do mardi gras for my friends without it being boring and tacky!! thank you if you can help!!

Sweet Sixteen Party?
mardigras you can do some face painting, or make your own masks at the party with glitter and feathers and stuff. you can have some huge bead necklace so whenever someone says a certain word or crosses their legs or something you have to wear it. maybe a big hat instead. go sledding or tubing- that's always fun, then go back to your house for hot food and snacks.
Reply:Mardi Gras is traditionally the first week of February. In New Orleans, the carnival starts on Twelfth Night (Jan 6 this coming year) and goes until midnight of Fat Tuesday (the day before Ash Wednesday) and is a party all in of itself. You can do MANY things. You can decorate (any party store will have lots of decorations) in purple, green and gold. You can have people bring masks (again, available at party stores) and beads. You could also supply glitter, feathers, sequins, etc ... and have everyone make their own mask. There's generally a king and queen that you all can vote by best dressed/best mask. Might be a good idea to make it a big dinner party and have everyone dress up ... eat crab cakes, crawfish bread, jambalaya, deep fried seafood, bourban-orange pecan pie (alcohol free, of course). Get a couple New Orleans, jazz and swing type music and have someone give swing lessons. You could have SO much fun with this!
Reply:Do a snow man theme... dress up like Mrs Claus and have all your friends be elfs.
