Which horse?

I have been riding for about 5 or 6 years and i am 14. I LOVE riding but my mom won't buy me a horse. so i am trying to find a horse that i like so i can just ride them during my practice rides and it will kind of feel like they are mine. I have two different horses in mind but i want to pick just one:

Horse 1: Her name is Roxy. She is about 15 hands. She is VERY fast and somewhat stubborn. She kicked the wall during our last ride cause she didn't want to go. She is fun but i don't fell like she really likes me or anything.

Horse 2: Her name is Penny. She is slow in the summer but a little more perky in the winter. She is about 15 hands. She is very sweet and does whatever i ask(but in the summer she needs a crop to push her forward). She is very sweet and i feel like we have a small connection. My mom and my dad say that me and her are a good match but usually when i ride i tend to lean towards fast and tall horses.

Who should i pick????

Which horse?
That's a tough one!

Penny seems really good and you seem to have a bond with her! I don't think you will learn much from her though!!!

If I rode someone that did basically everything that I asked I would get bored!

Roxy seems kinda naughty but I think she will teach a lot more! The more you ride her the more you will bond, too!

Roxy reminds me a lot of my favorite pony! She is very cute and I love her but she has attitude and bucks or kicks out if you use the crop on her! I rode her a lot and we started to bond!

It's all up to you! Put this questions into consideration!

-Which one will I learn the most on?

-Which one would I have the most fun on?

-Which one would I pretty much always have a problem with and that I would have to solve?

-When I advance in riding would I be too experienced to ride one of them?

Hope I helped,

Reply:I think Roxy is a good choice. You may not have a connection now but when you do it will be a strong powerful relationship. Penny seems like the horse everyone loves and if you choose her it may be to easy. For me Roxy seems better plus you will learn more.
Reply:this is kinda tricky.i went to horse ridin lessons wen i was 9 n i was kinda scared 2 begin with...my ridin teacher told me i was more likley to get on with a stubourn horse cos they need more attention, this is ur choice roxy sounds like she could have a slight attitude n penny sounds more like my kinda horse bt its each to there own i guess, which ever u feel comfortable wiv u should go for it no on can make up your mind for u
Reply:If it were me I'd pick the most challenging which sounds like Roxy.

I always seem to go for awkward or problematic mares! It's alot more rewarding when you achieve something with a horse like that than with a ploddy horse but at the end of the day it's what you feel can bring on your riding and confidence the most.

Remember it's always good to ride more than one horse anyway because every horse is different and you don't want to get used to just one.

Good luck :)
Reply:I would keep looking and not settle for either. Settling is easy but always costly in the long run. It is always a mistake to settle. The right horse is out there for you and I would keep looking for just the right one. Find a horse you really click with.
Reply:That's a tough one but I think you should stick with Penny maybe for the winter and then maybe switch over to Roxy when you feel more confidant.
Reply:I would definitely choose Penny. Roxy seems like a really challenge. Also, why doesn't your parents let you get a horse? Are they worried you might get hurt? If that is the case, if Roxy hurts you, thats a huge step back. Penny seems less likely to cause trouble. :D

However, it's up to you.
Reply:that is a tough one. I also, would lean more towards Penny only because she doesn't seem to have an attitude. If you like Roxy though, more than Penny, Roxy also sounds good, but needs some work with the kicking at the wall
Reply:I would get Penny because Roxy might be a little to rough for you because she is stubborn. My advice is to get Penny and get Roxy later when you are ready for her.
Reply:Either one is a good choice so go with the one you feel attached to, the one that you, don't worry about them not liking you you will bond over time. Personnaly I choose Penny. Hope this helps!
Reply:Penny sounds like a sweet fun horse. Roxy is one that you could use as a project and a challenge.

Challenge or just fun? What will you do with the horse?

**edit**

Roxy needs someone to show her kindness. It doesn't matter if she likes you yet, she's not your horse. The other horse probably likes everyone!
Reply:Sounds like you should go with Penny for now, but me...I'd go with Roxy because I love a horse who is a challenge and has a bit of fire!
Reply:pick the horse that you like ....
Reply:Defenitly pick Penny.

Why choose a horse that you don't have a connection with. That makes me assume you are more concerned about winning and being "the best". When I bought my first horse, he bucked, he had broken someones hand, he was completely crazy under saddle and sometimes on the ground. But he followed me around, came to me, and was the sweetest horse I'd ever met. And because of that I was willing to put in the effort to make him a better horse, and now, nearly two years later, I wouldn't trade him for the world.

If you work with Penny, you could make her better.

Good luck.
Reply:Either way, whichever horse you decide to choose it seems like there are a few things each would need work or more training on. If you would decide on Roxy, you will have to build a relationship with her. Once you both have a positive, trustful relationship with one another, both of you attitudes will change. With Penny, if you decide to buy her and regret not being able to buy a faster, taller horse, than you will be unhappy and that isn't fair to Penny.

My advice is if you feel like neither of them are right for you, keep searching around. There are horses everywhere.
Reply:Then 2nd one.
Reply:Well I think Penny is better! I had a stubborn horse not too long ago, and they are very hard to deal with. You should probaly try and loose your habbit on leaning forward because horses are very sensitive about where your body weight is, having them runnoff isnt good! I don't think you should ride roxy because it sounds like she doesnt wanna get ridden by you, but if you want to thats fine, I'm just saying Penny is the right choice!

Hope you agree! :)
Reply:I would get Penny because if Roxy doesnt like u that much then something dangerous might happen and you dont want to take a risk of injuring yourself but go with what one you truly have a little more connection together

hope i helped
