How do you give a gift to a Japanese person?

I'm studying Japanese in university, and today is our last day. Alot of the class are from overseas, and can't return home to visit their families during the winter break, so I made sweets for everyone as a gift, including some for my professor and her four-year old daughter, as a thank you for teaching me. What's the correct way to present the gift to her?

For Japanese people, the presentation ritual is as important as the gift itself. It must be elaborately wrapped.

Reply:hand it to them they may or not open it in front of you. Being here they more than likely will but don't expect it. also you may get a few gifts back (not what you gave them) I know when we visited my husbands aunt's family in Tokyo we gave them a gift they sent us one and it went back and forth for a little bit.
Reply:same as any other person i guess
Reply:Missionary position, Play it safe wear a condom
Reply:With one hand and a smile, if it is small. With two hands and a smile, if it is large.
Reply:The same way you would to any person.
